Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.

  • "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement refers to Bright Light Mediation.

Requests must be made in writing and there is a £10 fee for each request. Proof of identification is required in order to process your request.

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.

Bright Light Mediation may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain Our Service without monitoring the usage of Our Service.

  • To provide You with general information about other products which we offer that are similar to those that You have already purchased or enquired about unless You have opted not to receive such information.

  • To manage your requests: To attend and manage your requests to Us.

  • To set up and schedule appointments with You

  • To prepare for billings for service

Retention of Your Personal Data

Bright Light Mediation will retain your Personal Data for up to 5 years for the purposes of follow up, record keeping, and accountability. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with Our legal obligations (for example, retention of  your Personal Data), resolution of disputes, and enforcement of Our legal agreements and policies.

We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service, or We are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

Storage of your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is collected and stored in the UK.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that collection and storage.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your Personal Data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or another country and if in future this is done we will update and inform You 3 months ahead of doing so.

Complaints

We may share your Personal Data with the Family Mediation Standards Board (FMSB) in the event that a formal complaint is made to the FMSB, to which that information pertains.

We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation

  • Protect and defend the rights of any other individual e.g. in cases of safeguarding 

  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service

  • Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
